What does ‘certificated’ to PAS 24 actually mean?

The PAS 24 accreditation guarantees that the door you have purchased is monitored by the UKAS accredited certification body which ensures that the door is compliant with PAS 24:2016.

“Enhanced security performance requirements for doorsets and windows in the UK. External doorsets and windows intended to offer a level of security suitable for dwellings and other buildings exposed to comparable risk and the specific and the relevant material specific standard for general performance referenced in BS 6375 Parts 1, 2 and 3.”

PAS24 is a British standards and doors are tested to a set of specifications that are graded either pass or fail. Even if the doorset that has passed is stronger than the minimum requirement, having a minimum standard will encourage engineers to design a door that meets those requirements.

Doing this has of economic and environmental benefits and having doors that are certified to this standard allows for effectiveness of having more doors certified to this standard.

Force 8’s Decadence door range has been PAS24 accreditied and we have recently introduced the Tudor Smooth Stable door which has recently achieved the PAS24 status, allowing this to be the first stable door on the market to have passed the PAS24 testing and be in or unique aluminium smooth finish.
